[1,1'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene-²P,P'](1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I) trifluoromethanesulfonate dichloromethane disolvate

Abstract: The title compound, [Rh(C₈H₁₂)(C₃₄H₂₈P₂Fe)]CF₃SO₃·2CH₂Cl₂ or [RhFe(C₈H₁₂)(C₁₇H₁₄P)₂]CF₃SO₃·2CH₂Cl₂, was synthesized by reacting 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf) with [Rh(1,5-cyclooctadiene)(THF)₂]⁺ in tetrahydrofuran (THF), and shows dppf acting as a P,P'-bidentate chelating ligand. The compound crystallizes in the space group P2₁/n and features one crystallographically unique Rh⁺ metal centre, which appears in a distorted square-planar geometry.
