(4,4'-Dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine)(ethynylbenzene)(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) hexafluoroantimonate

Abstract: The reaction between the metal diphosphine [Ag(PPh₃)₂(MeCN)](SbF₆) and the metal acetylide compound Pt(dmbpy)(C₂Ph)₂ (dmbpy is 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine) gave the title compound, Pt(dmbpy)(C₂Ph)·SbF₆ or [Pt(C₈H₅)(C₁₈H₁₅P)(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)](SbF₆). The Pt center is four-coordinated and exhibits a distorted square-planar coordination geometry.
