Abstract: The structure of 6I,6II-dideoxy-6I-(p-methylbenzylthio)-6II- phenylthio-[beta]-cyclodextrin tetradecahydrate, C56H82O33S2·14H2O, has been determined. Of the two substituents, only the phenylthio moiety is included in the cavity of adjacent disubstituted [beta]-cyclodextrin ([beta]-CD) units, forming a helical polymer.
