Ethyl 2-phenyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl)acrylate

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₆H₁₅NO₂, the pyridine and benzene rings are nearly coplanar and form a -conjugation system with the ethylcarboxylate susbtituent nearly perpendicular to the styrylpyridine plane. The molecular packing is stabilized by weak C-H interactions.
