Triaqua(1,10-phenanthroline)sulfatocadmium(II)

X. Li, R. Cao, W. Bi, D. Sun and M. Hong

Abstract: Hydrothermal reaction of 3CdSO4·8H2O and phenanthroline (phen) in aqueous methanol resulted in the title mononuclear cadmium compound, [Cd(SO4)(C12H8N2)(H2O)3]. The coordination geometry around the CdII atom is distorted octahedral, in which one of the sulfate O atoms and an aqua ligand occupy the axial positions. Intermolecular O-H...O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a two-dimensional layer structure.
