Bis[dicarbonyl(⁵-cyclopentadienyl)ferrio](N,N-diisobutyldithiocarbamato)tin(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [{CpFe(CO)₂}₂Sn{S₂CN(C₄H₉-i)₂}₂] or [SnFe₂(C₅H₅)₂(C₉H₁₈NS₂)₂(CO)₄], is obtained from the reaction of [C₅H₅Fe(CO)₂]₂SnCl₂ and potassium N,N-diisobutyldithiocarbamate in a mixed solvent (C₆H₆-THF 1:1). The crystal structure shows that the Sn atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis. An Fe-Sn-Fe cluster is present in the complex, the Sn and Fe atoms having coordination numbers 4 and 8, respectively. There are non-conventional intramolecular C-HS and C-HN hydrogen bonds in the structure.
