3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-4-(5-phenyl-2,4-pentadienoyl)sydnone

Abstract: The dihedral angle between the sydnone moiety and methoxyphenyl ring of the title compound, C₂₀H₁₆N₂O₄, is 66.32  (10)°. Electron conjugation is observed between the pentadienone group and the attached phenyl ring. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C-HO interactions to form a sheet-like structure, which lies parallel to the ab plane.
