4-Methoxyphenyl 4-toluenesulfonate: supramolecular aggregation through C-HO and C-H interactions

Abstract: In the title molecule, C₁₄H₁₄O₄S, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the 4-tolyl and 4-methoxyphenyl rings is 7.2  (1)°. There are weak intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds which generate rings of motifs R¹₂(6), R¹₂(9) and R²₁(4). There are also C-H interactions which stack the molecules in layers in the crystal lattice.
