Bis{2-[(2-aminoethylimino)(phenyl)methyl]pyridine-³N}nickel(II) diperchlorate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Ni(C₁₅H₁₇N₃)₂](ClO₄)₂, the Ni atom is hexacoordinated by six N atoms from two independent N,N',N''-tridentate 2-[(2-aminoethylimino)(phenyl)methyl]pyridine ligands, with the NiN₆ group forming a distorted octahedral geometry. In the asymmetric unit, the ligand-coordinated nickel cation and two perchlorate anions are linked by one N-HO and two C-HO hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, the complexes are linked by four N-HO bonds and three C-HO bonds.
