Abstract: In the title molecule, C15H10O2, there are two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The
-pyrone ring makes a dihedral angle of 1.0 (1)° with the 2-phenyl substituent in one of the molecules, while in the other molecule the
-pyrone ring makes a dihedral angle of 9.8 (1)° with the 2-phenyl substituent.
