4-(E)-But-1-enyl-2,6-dimethoxyphenyl nicotinate

Abstract: In the title compound, 4-(E)-but-1-enyl-2,6-dimethoxyphenyl pyridine-3-carboxylate, C₁₈H₁₉NO₄, the butenyl substituent is in the trans configuration. The molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C-HO hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a chain extending through the whole crystal structure.
