Abstract: The title compound, C15H24O3·0.5H2O, crystallizes in the space group P21 with two molecules in the asymmetric unit, both with the same conformation. In the crystal structure, O-H
O hydrogen bonds link the two independent molecules, A and B, into an infinite chain along the a axis. These chains are further interlinked by water molecules through O-H
O hydrogen bonds in different directions into supramolecular arrays.
