Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₆H₁₄O₄, the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 75.8  (1)°. The torsion angle about the central C-C bond is 77.2  (3)°. The packing of the molecules in the solid state is stabilized by C-HO, C-H and - intermolecular interactions.
