-Hydroxyolean-12-en-27-oic acid methanol solvate: a cytotoxic and apoptosis-inducing triterpenoid from the rhizome of Astilbe chinensisAbstract: The title compound, C30H48O3·CH4O, is a cytotoxic and apoptosis-inducing triterpenoid which was isolated from the rhizome of Astilbe chinensis. The molecule is composed of five six-membered rings. The cyclohexene ring adopts a slightly distorted half-chair conformation and the cyclohexane rings adopt chair conformations. The hydroxy and carboxy groups both serve simultaneously as hydrogen-bond donors and acceptors, forming molecular chains.
