Abstract: In the title compound, [{(CH3)2CH}2NH2]2 [C10H6-2,6-(CO2)2], two ammonium -NH2 groups interact with two carboxyl -CO2 groups around an inversion center to give rise to a ten-membered 
O-C-O
H-N-HO-C-OH-N-H ring. As the dicarboxylato dianion also lies on an inversion center, a linear hydrogen-bonded chain structure is formed.
