(E)-1,2-Bis(1,2-dimethyl-3-indolizinyl)ethene

Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, C₂₂H₂₂N₂, has a center of symmetry, and two bulky indolizinyl groups are situated on opposite sides of the C=C double bond, resulting in an E configuration. The two indolizinyl groups and the C=C double bond are in the same plane, forming a fully extended conjugated system. There are - stacking interactions between neighboring molecules related by a center of symmetry.
