2-Naphthyl 4-toluenesulfonate: supramolecular aggregation through C-HO and C-H interactions

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₇H₁₄O₃S, there are two independent molecules and the intramolecular dihedral angles between the mean planes of the 4-tolyl and the 2-naphthyl rings are 55.11  (7)° and 65.10  (7)°. C-HO interactions generate rings of graph-set motif S(5), S(6), R²₁(4), R¹₂(6), R¹₂(8) and R¹₂(9). The supramolecular aggregation is completed by the presence of several C-H interactions.
