Na_8.5H_1.5[GeW₉O₃₄]·20H₂O containing trivacant A-- and A--Keggin anions

Abstract: The title compound, 8.5-sodium 1.5-hydrogen tetratriacontaoxononatungstomonogermanate(10-) icosahydrate, contains A-- and A--type trivacant Keggin [GeW₉O₃₄]^10- anions, which are disordered in an approximately 1:9 ratio. Pairs of anions related by a center of symmetry are linked via O-Na-O bonding to form a quasi-sandwich-type [Na₁₀(H₂O)₁₄(GeW₉O₃₄)₂]^10- complex.
