Abstract: The title compound, diaquabis{2-[(5-methylpyrazol-3-yl)methyl]benzimidazole}cobalt(II) dichloride dihydrate acetone solvate, [Co(C₁₂H₁₂N₄)₂(H₂O)₂]Cl₂·2H₂O·C₃H₆O, is composed of the cationic complex [Co(C₁₂H₁₂N₄)₂(H₂O)₂]²⁺, with two chloride ions, two water molecules and one acetone molecule. The cobalt ion, linked to two water molecules and four N atoms of the deformed ligand, exhibits a slightly distorted octahedral coordination.
