2,2'-[1,2-Bis(4-chlorophenyl)ethane-1,2-diyl]bis(1-tetralone)

Abstract: The title compound, C₃₄H₂₈Cl₂O₂, was synthesized by the self-coupling reaction of 2-(4-chlorobenzyl)-1-tetralone induced by low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl₄/Zn) in tetrahydrofuran. The X-ray analysis reveals that the two cyclohexenone rings adopt different conformations, viz. envelope and distorted half-chair.
