Abstract: The title compound, [Pr(C₁₆H₃₆N₄O₄)(H₂O)][Pr(NO₃)₆]·2H₂O, was prepared as part of our search for polynuclear lanthanide(III) nanoclusters. The asymmetric unit contains two distinct metal sites, one in which the Pr³⁺ ion is in coordination number 12 and the other in coordination number 9. The cations, anions and water molecules are linked in the crystal structure by O-HO hydrogen bonds
