Synchrotron X-ray study of [5,15-diphenyl-2,8,12,18-tetra-n-hexyl-3,7,13,17-tetramethylporphyrinato]nickel(II)

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C₆₀H₇₆N₄)], has been determined at 150  K by a synchrotron single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The asymmetric unit contains two independent molecules of the porphyrinatonickel complex which display distorted saddle conformations. The porphyrins are arranged into layers, with the n-hexyl substituents extending above and below the plane of these layers, and interdigitating between them.
