Ammonium iron(III) molybdate

Abstract: A new compound with an open framework, (NH₄)[Fe(MoO₄)₂], was synthesized through hydrothermal reaction. It contains 10 non-H atoms in the asymmetric unit and the structure comprises a network of FeO₆ octahedra and MoO₄ tetrahedra that strictly alternate and involve only Fe-O-Mo linkages. The ammonium cations sit in the middle of the channels formed by these linkages.
