Abstract: A new compound with an open framework, (NH4)[Fe(MoO4)2], was synthesized through hydrothermal reaction. It contains 10 non-H atoms in the asymmetric unit and the structure comprises a network of FeO6 octahedra and MoO4 tetrahedra that strictly alternate and involve only Fe-O-Mo linkages. The ammonium cations sit in the middle of the channels formed by these linkages.
