O)bis(4,7-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-one-
N3)copper(II)Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, [Cu(7HtpO)2(NO3)2(H2O)2], contains two neutral 4,7-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-one (7HtpO) ligands , coordinated through the N atom in position 3, two nitrate ions each coordinated through one of the O atoms, and two water molecules, completing the octahedral environment around the copper atom which lies on an inversion centre, thus defining the all-trans isomer. The intramolecular N-H
O hydrogen bond involving the nitrate oxygen atom linked to the metal atom stabilizes the structure. Distances in the coordination sphere are Cu-N(7HtpO)= 2.003 (2), Cu-O(nitrate) = 2.410 (2) and Cu-O(water) = 1.977 (2) Å.
