Abstract: In the title molecule, C25H25NO, the piperidone ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation. The two methylphenyl rings are oriented differently with reference to the central piperidone plane. The crystal packing is characterized by C-H...[pi] and C-H...O interactions. It can be concluded that the stable conformation is the same in the solid state as in solution.
