1,3-Dimethoxy-5-(triphenylmethylthio)benzene

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₇H₂₄O₂S, crystallizes in space group P with one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The geometry and intermolecular contacts are described: the rings in thetriphenylmethyl moiety show a near-threefold symmetry, and the compound displays OCH₃- interactions in the methoxy-substituted ring and herringbone interactions between the unsubstituted rings.
