Dibenzoato-di(2-aminopyridine)nickel(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [(C₇H₅O₂)₂(C₅H₆N₂)₂Ni], the Ni^II atom is six coordinated by four O atoms from two benzoate anions, and two pyridine N atoms from the two 2-aminopyridine ligands to give a distorted octahedral geometry. All of the O atoms and both the amine groups of the ligands contribute to form a one-dimensional chain consisting of intra- and intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds.
