Acta Cryst. (2003). E59, o1584-o1585 [ doi:10.1107/S160053680302097X ]
Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, C9H22N2O2+·2Cl-·H2O, has been determined at 173 (1) K. Attached to the piperidinyl ring, which adopts a chair conformation, the hydroxyl and the exocyclic ammonium groups are mutually trans, both occupying equatorial positions. The water molecule and the two chloride anions are involved in strong hydrogen bonding via O
H and H
Cl interactions.
