Abstract: The title compound, C₂₀H₂₂FNO₄, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-fluorobenzaldehyde with 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione and ethyl cyanoacetate. The pyran ring adopts a boat conformation, while the fused six-membered ring adopts a distorted boat conformation.
