4,8-Bis[(4-butylphenyl)amino]-1,5-naphthalenedione

Abstract: The title compound, C₃₀H₃₂N₂O₂, is an aminonaphthoquinone derivative that exhibits a third-order non-linear optical susceptibility. The centrosymmetric aminonaphthoquinone moieties are connected by bifurcated N-HO hydrogen bonds to form a ribbon structure along the c axis. The molecules are stacked along the a axis, with overlap occurring only at the periphery of the naphthoquinone skeleton.
