Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C₁₅H₂₁O₃)₂(C₂H₆O)₂], is a powerful charge-control agent used widely in electrophotography. The present Zn^II complex has C₂ symmetry and exhibits a deformed octahedral coordination. Two O atoms of the ethanol molecules are coordinated in a cis fashion to the Zn atom.
