Abstract: The crystal structure of C12H13NOS, which was obtained in a base-catalysed condensation reaction of thiophene-3-carboxaldehyde with 1-aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-one, is presented. The title compound, which contains a double bond connecting an azabicyclic ring system to a thiophen-3-ylmethylene moiety, crystallizes from solution in methanol and has a thienyl ring-flip disorder.
