Acta Cryst. (2003). E59, i142-i144 [ doi:10.1107/S1600536803021524 ]
Abstract: The title compound, [Sc2Br6(NH3)4], was obtained by the reaction of ammonium bromide, (NH4)Br, with scandium metal in a sealed tantalum container. The crystal structure contains isolated dimers of bromide edge-connected [Sc-mer-(NH3)3Br3] and [Sc(NH3)Br5] octahedra. Sc(NH3)2Br3 is isotypic with Sc(NH3)2Cl3.
