2N]palladium(II) dichloride methanol trisolvateAbstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Pd(C7H16N2)2]Cl2·3CH3OH, has been determined at 180 (2) K in the non-centrosymmetric space group P212121. The structure contains only one crystallographically unique Pd metal centre, showing a slightly distorted square-planar geometry, in which the two chiral (S)-(-)-2-aminomethyl-1-ethylpyrrolidine diamines are coordinated with a trans configuration in order to minimize the steric interaction between neighbouring substituent ethyl groups. [Pd(C7H16N2)2]2+ complex cations are strongly hydrogen-bonded to the Cl- anions and methanol molecules, forming supramolecular tapes running along the a axis.
