Abstract: The title compound, (1,3,5-(MeO)₃C₆H₃)Cr(CO)₃ or [Cr(C₉H₁₂O₃)(CO)₃], exhibits the three-legged piano-stool structure expected for a metal tricarbonyl with an ⁶-coordinated arene. The molecule exhibits threefold symmetry. The methoxy groups display an out-of-plane distortion.
