2,2-Dimethyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-1,2-dihydroquinazolin-4(3H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₈N₂O, was synthesized by the reaction of N-(4-methylphenyl)-2-nitrobenzamide and acetone, induced by a low-valent titanium reagent. The dihydropyrimidine ring adopts a half-chair conformation. The molecules are connected by N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a linear chain along the b axis.
