9-Chloro-5,5-dimethyl-2,3-diphenyl-2,3-dihydroimidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₄H₂₀ClN₃, (I), was synthesized by the reaction of 4,5-diphenyl-2-(2-nitro-5-chlorophenyl)imidazole with acetone, induced by a low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl₄/Zn). X-ray analysis reveals that (I) contains a pyrimidine ring in a distorted boat conformation.
