Abstract: The title compound, C18H34N2O2, has been prepared and its solid-state structure redetermined at low temperature. The crystalline structure contains only RSSR and SRRS diastereomeric pairs occurring in alternating layers within the crystal, reinforcing the idea that a high degree of diastereoselectivity is attained in the reaction of polyamines and cyclohexene oxide. The compound crystallizes in space group C2/c and the molecule sits on a crystallographic twofold axis.
