Abstract: The crystal structure of a dioxane solvate of (+)-pinoresinol, C20H22O6·C4H8O2, has been determined. The solvate is stabilized by hydrogen bonding between the pinoresinol and dioxane molecules. The five-membered rings in the central dioxabicyclooctane ring system of the pinoresinol molecules adopt envelope conformations, with the benzylic C atoms as flaps.
