Diaquabis(imidazole-N)bis(nitrobenzoato-O)nickel(II)

Abstract: The title complex, [Ni(C₇H₄NO₄)₂(C₃H₄N₂)₂(H₂O)₂], assumes an octahedral coordination geometry with the Ni atom located on an inversion centre. The overlapped arrangement and the separation of 3.535  (14)  Å suggest the existence of - stacking between parallel imidazole ligands. Both intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonding occur between imidazole, coordinated water molecules and the carboxyl group.
