Abstract: The coordination polyhedron of Co^II in the title structure, [Co(C₈H₄NO)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)(H₂O)₂], is a slightly distorted octahedron defined by an N₂O₄ donor set. Hydrogen bonds are formed between the coordinated water molecules and O atoms of the carboxylate groups, stabilizing the structure and leading to the formation of a one-dimensional ladder architecture.
