Abstract: The coordination polyhedron of CoII in the title structure, [Co(C8H4NO)2(C12H8N2)(H2O)2], is a slightly distorted octahedron defined by an N2O4 donor set. Hydrogen bonds are formed between the coordinated water molecules and O atoms of the carboxylate groups, stabilizing the structure and leading to the formation of a one-dimensional ladder architecture.
