N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-diaminoethane: a multidentate ligand

Abstract: The reaction of 1,2-diaminoethane and 2-pyridinecarboxyaldehyde in the presence of a reducing agent, sodium triacetoxyborohydride, leads to the title compound, C₂₆H₂₈N₆. The molecule has a centre of symmetry.
