Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₅NO₃, is a potent new herbicide containing the pyrrolidine-2,4-dione ring system. In the crystalline state, the molecular skeleton contains one enol hydrogen-bonded moiety, formed from benzoyl C=O isomerization.
