Di---pyrrolidinonato-bis[cis-diamminechloroplatinum(III)] sulfate dihydrate: a head-to-head isomer

Abstract: In the title compound, [Pt^III₂Cl₂(C₄H₆NO)₂(NH₃)₄](SO₄)·2H₂O, the intradimer Pt^III-Pt^III distance is 2.6235 (13) Å. The axial Pt^III-Cl bond distances for the N₄ and N₂O₂ coordinated sites are 2.410 (5) and 2.446 (5) Å, respectively. The two Pt coordination planes are inclined at 16.3 (6)° and the average torsional twist of the ligands about the Pt-Pt axis is estimated as 0.4°.
