Abstract: The title compound, C17H12ClNO5, consists of a main benzothiazole group and its substituents which are one Cl atom, a benzoyl group and a propanoic acid group. There is a 0.779 (4)/0.221 (4) disorder in the terminal propanoic acid group. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen-bond contacts.
