Abstract: The crystal structure of the double salt tetrakis(anilinium) hexachlorotin(IV) dichloride, (C6H8N)4[SnCl6]Cl2, exhibits alternating inorganic and organic layers parallel to the ab plane. In the inorganic layer, ammonium groups interact with chloride anions and isolated tilted [SnCl6]2- octahedra through N-H
Cl hydrogen bonds.
