Abstract: In the title compound, C₂₁H₂₂N₂O₃, the geometry of the heterodiene (N=C-C=C) indicates the presence of a resonance effect across the C-C bond. The heterodiene prefers the s-trans configuration. The molecules aggregate as double layers parallel to the (101) plane. Consecutive layers, labelled ABAB..., are inversely related to one another.
