Y.-s. Kim, D. VanDerveer, R. W. Rousseau and A. P. Wilkinson

Abstract: The title compound, anhydrous sodium (S)-(-)-6-methoxy-[alpha]-methyl-2-naphthaleneacetate, [Na(C14H13O3)], has two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, with structures closely related to that of the monohydrate. The most significant differences between the two molecules are in the O-C-C-C torsion angles, -10.4  (3) and -37.7  (3)°, of the side-chain carboxylate groups.
