Aquachlorobis(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) chloride dimethylformamide solvate

J.-W. Liu, S. Gao, L.-H. Huo and S. W. Ng

Abstract: The Co ion in the title compound, [CoCl(phen)2(H2O)]Cl·DMF [phen = 1,10-phenanthroline (C12H8N2) and DMF is dimethylformamide (C3H7NO)], exists in a distorted octahedral coordination environment. The cations and anions are linked by O-H...Cl hydrogen-bond interactions across a center of inversion, forming a dimeric entity. A supramolecular network structure is consolidated by [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions and hydrogen bonds.
