Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: (2R,3S,4S,5R)-2-(benzyloxy)-5-(nitromethyl)-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol], C₁₃H₁₇NO₇, has the nitrosomethyl group in the equatorial position. The bond lengths and angles are as expected.
